Abstract
Raman spectra are reported for pure molten thallium nitrate and aqueous thallium nitrate solutions at temperatures between 212—185°C for concentrations in the range 1:0.5–1:20 TlNO 3: H 2O mole ratio. The spectra reveal the presence of a π-interaction, C s “roll-on”, contact ion-pair in the more concentrated solutions similar to that found in TlNO 3—liquid ammonia solutions.
