Abstract
Ammoniated mercury-Hg 203 was prepared from mercuric chloride-Hg 203 . The labeled ammoniated mercury was incorporated into ointment bases and used to determine absorption of ammoniated mercury through intact and abraded skin of rats. Twenty-four hours after application of the ointment, both kidneys were removed and assayed for mercury content by beta and gamma radiometric rocedures. The two radiometric methods were found to give comparaile results.
