Abstract
In this paper we develop a radical for arbitrary m-ary R-algebras. This is done via the set of all maximal ideals of the m-ary algebra A. It turns out that the radical of A is the intersection of all essential maximal ideals of A; here, a maximal ideal U of A is said to be essential if A/U is a simple m-ary R-algebra
