Abstract
We study quark-parton and hadron target mass corrections to Bjorken scaling using the parton model, the lightcone expansion, and operator product expansion techniques motivated by asymptotic freedom. We find descriptions of the approach to scaling in terms of a unique scaling variable with a parton model interpretation even for massive quarks, but with model-dependent spectral conditions. We also discuss limitations on the applicability of our analysis.
