This paper describes a Quality Function Deployment framework for the systematic description of the cause and effect relationships between the competitive priorities, significant measures of perfonnance, the best practices and the associated variables. The application of the approach is illustrated by reference to the detailed capacity planning module of an overall manufacturing planning and control system
