Abstract

Objective To explore the long-term care needs of disabled elderly in nursing homes. Methods A descriptive phenomenological method was used and depth interview was conducted with 12 disabled elderly to collect the data. Results The long-term care needs of disabled elderly in nursing homes included daily care, medical care, rehabilitation care, spiritual comfort and social participation. Conclusion The long-term care needs of disabled elderly in nursing homes are diversified, and health care providers can help disabled elderly in nursing homes to improve the quality of life according to their needs.
