Abstract
Purpose: Physiotherapy is one of the principal and most consistent therapy services for critical care. Physiotherapy teams are now making service changes to join nurse and medical professions in working a 7-day shift patterns, resulting in the potential for rehabilitation to be provided over weekends in addition to usual weekend emergency respiratory care. A physiotherapy service change was implemented in July 2017 at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH NHSFT) Adult Intensive Care Unit (AICU) to deliver a modified 7-day service.
