Abstract

The advancement in the fields of science, engineering, social networking and e-commerce along with the tremendous growth in the pervasive technologies has generated a tsunami of data in digital form. To store and process this type of data is a big challenge for the researcher. Different distributed computing and processing systems have been developed to overcome these real world data computational and storage problems. For such computational intensive applications, cloud or grid computing can be seen as a special type of distributed computing platform. One of the main layer used in grid computing environment is middleware, that divides the user job and distribute it among several available computing resources for processing and then do the result aggregation task. In this paper we have surveyed the existing popular middleware software libraries used in Grid Computing environment and presented a qualitative comparison of these systems w.r.t resource management.
