Abstract

Abstract. One hundred ninety‐seven macroalgal taxa, belonging to four classes, were identified at seven characteristic stations of the Saronikos Gulf.Species diversity was higher in cleaner waters. From the outer to the inner section, the number of species and the coverage increased in Bryopsidophyceae and decreased in Phaeophyceae and Rhodophyceae.
