Abstract

This is a text that was presented at an encounter of professors of EST (Escola Superior de Teologia) and of CETEOL (Centro de Ensino Teologico). It begins by questioning the profile of missionary and pastor, and then leads into a reflection on the issue of the theological training that is done from a given and assumed perspective, in this case “our ecclesiastical and theological position which is of a Lutheran and pietist tradition” . The CETEOL proposes a “critical, confessional, ecclesiastical and contextual” theological training, having as its base matrix, theology as the study of the Word of God, this word being always constituted by the dialectical paradoxical relationship between judgment and grace. Given this, such theology can only and always be existentially involved.
