Abstract

A long-pulse ( approximately 30 mu s) xenon-ion laser with a maximum output energy of 20 mJ has been developed by using a double-discharge technique. Design details of the laser tube and the discharge circuits are described. Laser performance for different discharge circuits and working parameters (gas pressure and excitation voltage) is also presented.
