Abstract

This article is set to examine the applicability of psychoanalysis in the Sesotho novel, Mosikong wa lerato by T Mafata. The writer will focus on how psychoanalysis attends to the literary characters who in their struggle to survive, are engaged in different kinds of conflict that represents the basis for the social system. The study will attempt to highlight the applicability of psychoanalytical concepts such as symbols, drives, wishes, desires and fantasies to the text.
