Abstract

A psychiatric study of 33 cases of first-admission paranoid schizophrenics in the Hospital for Mental Diseases, Ranchi, during the period from January 1958 to April 1959 was carried out. The observations made were specifically with reference to: (1) age at the onset of illness; (2) relative frequencies of incidence of the different types of delusions; (3) precipitating factors and psychodynamic factors of relevance (where identifiable); (4) influence of sociocultural factors on symptomatology, psychopathology, etc.
