Abstract

A system design using the Super Home Bus System (S-HBS) for an apartment building is proposed and the system protocol used is detailed. An example application is discussed using a conventional in-house cable TV (CATV) system and a coaxial cable. Using frequency-division multiplexing (FDM), this system transmits most of the information needed for an apartment building. The proposed system forms a network by connecting a head-end to a gateway provided for each residence and then to the HBS for a detached house. After the topology of S-HBS is shown, the gateway, packet structure, and the data used for processing digital data are described. >
