Abstract

Background and Aims: Wireless capsule endoscopy (CE) and double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE) are new methods enabling diagnostic endoscopy of the entire small intestine. CE has not been compared with DBE in prospective study before. We prospectively compared the clinical efficacy and outcomes of CE and DBE for the patients with suspected small bowel disease. Patients and Methods: We examined 103 cases by CE (Given M2A video capsule) and 233 cases by DBE with suspected small bowel disease from April 2004 through November 2005.
