Abstract
Our proposed way is for resolving computer system failures. Especially, the way is for the computer system failures that are combined with infrastructure problems and software problems. The purpose of the proposed way is that software engineers alone can detect true system faults that combined with infrastructure problems and software problems. The feature of the proposed way is to make events sequences including not only infrastructure events but also software events. The events have the time stamp, IP source address, IP destination address, and protocol type. After that, the events are lined by time series. Many sequences of events in the computer system are automatically generated in a tool that has been developed by us. In addition, we tried to apply our proposed way to a typical system failure of a web application. As a result, if a system failure occurs, the tool automatically selects sequences related to the system failure using IP address and the failure occurrence time. We confirmed that the tool helps software engineers detect faults that are caused by a verge message session error in a web application.
