Abstract

The aim of this project was to increase health visitors' knowledge and awareness of paternal postnatal depression (pPND) and to develop services focused on fathers rather than just mothers and babies. The project was implemented to increase practitioners' knowledge of transition to fatherhood, paying particular attention to pPND. It was hoped that the project would enable the service to put into place strategies to meet identified needs and improve the engagement of fathers, promoting a wider father-inclusive health visiting service in the future.
