Abstract
This paper presents a programmable radio architecture for 5G vehicle to everything (V2X) communication which exploits a programmable time-interleaved (TI) Analog to Digital Converter (ADC). Compared to conventional radio architectures this architecture has a small area and low power consumption which is due to maximum hardware share and programmability. The radio architecture has been designed using a frequency plan that allows multi-band operation. The five-channel interleaved ADC is designed to work at 800 MS/s, however, it can be programmed to work at 160 MS/s to cover all V2X applications and reduce power consumption. The architecture is developed for a single-chip implementation in 65nm bulk CMOS process.
