Abstract

This article aims to discuss the concept of professional education in the Reform of High School, in order to understand the meaning of the insertion of professionalism in the curriculum of regular high school. It starts from the perspective that the High School Reform promotes a generalized professionalization in Basic Education. It analyzes how changes in educational policies for high school are related to the world of work. The adopted methodology consists of theoretical discussion, documentary analysis of the norms for high school and field research with a qualitative approach. As an intervention proposal in view of the reformulation of high school, it describes and analyzes the data obtained with the development of a training course, aimed at discussing the professionalization and specialization in regular high school, conducted with education professionals from a state school in Pocos de Caldas / MG.
