Abstract

Large-scale system makes a class of a complex (large systems which have become an object of thorough studies). The paper deals with the methodology of designing sets of interrelated models of large-scale system structure optimization resting upon the use of the aggregate-decomposition approach (Tsvirkun, 1982). A two-level set of models and an iterative optimization scheme of large-scale system structure development are presented. Results of studying the convergence of these iterative optimization schemes and problems pertaining to their practical application to planning are discussed. The above methodology was employed in designing a number of synthesis including a multilevel set of interrelated models for optimization of the nation's fuel-end-energy complex (PEC) development (Tsvirkun et al. 1983).
