Abstract

A large pear-shaped fructification, from the Westphalian C of Poland, is the first compression fossil probably assignable to the Botryopteridaceae. Its spores are referable to Verrucosisporites verrucosus; their sporoderm consists of a single, homogeneous layer (sexine).
