Abstract

Summary A principle relating to convergent upper and lower bounds in certain continuous boundary value problems is presented. The procedure is discussed in detail for a fin temperature problem in which there is internal heat generation. A numerical example is considered, and numerical and graphical results are given. Convergence characteristics are shown
