Abstract

The fine structure of a paired lamellate body in the anterior region of the lycophora larva of Gyrocotyle urna is described. Each structure is built up by one specialized cell. Lamellae derive from membranes of about 15 cilia that protrude into an intracellular cavity. The lamellae divide into several flattened branches and are rolled up forming a whorl.
