A Preliminary Study on the Development of Teacher Training Program to Improve Competency of Play Instruction for ECSE Teachers - With a Special Reference to Perceptions and Needs on Free Choice Activity Play Instruction -

Abstract

본 연구는 자유선택활동 놀이지도 교사교육프로그램 개발을 위한 기초연구로서 유아특수교사의 자유선택활동 놀이지도에 대한 인식을 조사하고, 교사교육 프로그램에 대한 요구를 알아보고자 하였다. 이에 서울과 경기, 인천 지역의 유아특수교사가 설문 조사에 참여하였으며, 총 98부가 분석 자료로 사용되었다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 통계프로그램을 활용하여 빈도 백분율, t검증을 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아특수교사들의 자유선택활동에 대한 인식을 통합 환경 유무에 따라 살펴본 결과 자유선택활동 운영에 대한 중요성 인식은 두 집단 간 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었으나 놀이 상호작용 및 놀이 지도의 어려움, 놀이지도를 위한 수업 준비의 노력, 놀이 개입 및 지도의 필요성에 대한 인식은 두 집단 간 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 유아특수교사들은 자유선택 활동 운영 및 놀이지도에 대한 교사교육프로그램이 매우 필요하다고 요구하였으며, 교사교육 프로그램의 목표와 내용에 대한 응답에서는 장애유아의 놀이 개입과 지도전략에 대한 실제적이고 구체적인 내용을 요구하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 유아특수교육현장의 수업 운영과 관련된 교사들의 실제적인 인식과 지원 요구를 나타내고 있다는 것에 의의가 있으며, 향후 교육 현장에서 적용할 수 있는 구체적인 수업 지원과 교사의 역량강화를 위한 교사지원에 활용할 수 있을 것이다.The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of play instruction by Early Childhood Special Education(ECSE) teachers and to understand the support needs for teacher training programs. For this research, questionnaire was conducted regarding ECSE teachers in Seoul, Gyeong-gi and Incheon. A total of 98 data were used for analysis and for data analysis, frequency, percentage, and t-tests were performed using the SPSS statistical program. The results of the study are as follows: (1) As a result of examining the differences in the perception of free choice activity play instruction according to with or without inclusive environment, there was a statistically significant difference between two groups in the importance of the operation of free choice activity. But, there was no difference in the perception of difficulty in play interaction and play instruction, efforts of class preparation for play instruction, and need for play intervention and guidance. (2)The ECSE teachers hold needs that a teacher training program for play instruction is necessary. And the teachers demanded a practical educational program for teacher intervention and guidance strategies for children with disabilities. The results of this study lay a basic foundation for the development of the program for strengthening the competence of teachers.
