Abstract
The light shelf system is classified into internal-type light shelf, external-type light shelf and mixed-type light shelf which combines internal- type and external-type light shelves. The performance of the external-type light shelf among these types has been recognized so that it will provide a solution for the design limitations due to wind pressure while the ratio of high-rise buildings is increasing currently according to the National Statistical Office. In this study, the external-type light shelf with the punched reflector which can be used in high-rise buildings is suggested. Keyword: light shelf, Punched reflector, Vent ration, performance evaluation Increase in lighting energy consumption among the energy consumption in buildings has become an energy-related problem. The light shelf can bring natural light into indoors, reducing lighting energy consumed in the daytime, so that it has been used in various spaces. the external-type light shelf is known to be better than the internal- type or mixed-type light shelf for improving the lighting performance. In case of high-rise buildings, it is difficult to apply the light shelf protruding from the wall to the outside due to high wind pressure. The purpose of this study is to suggest the light shelf with the punched reflector that can be used in high-rise buildings.
