Abstract

This research reviews the public relations education literature and finds that public relations education in the United States and China mostly follow the practice orientation of “learning and use”, emphasize cross-disciplinary integration, and teach the principles of “theory” vs. “skills” to establish public relations course. This research declares that in China where the social environment and technological intelligence are rapidly changing, the existing curriculum planning obviously has its shortcomings. Public relations educators must strengthen the planning of intelligent knowledge-oriented “independent topic” curriculum to meet the current social situation and satisfy corporate practical needs, and meanwhile cultivate better public relations research talents. Finally, this research uses intelligent deep learning to specify the curriculum planning and teaching goals, and establishes a curriculum case for the planning of the “independent topic” curriculum for public relations teaching.
