Abstract
In the past, criminology [in China] focused its study on male criminality. Little attention was paid to female criminals as it was generally believed that they were few in number and incapable of yielding grave consequences. Nevertheless, in the wake of sweeping changes in society, female criminals are rapidly growing in number, and their crimes have become more diverse in form. This cannot but alert us to the necessity of reexamining female criminality in a new perspective and from different angles.
