Abstract

Our country, territorially the largest in the world, is very diverse in its natural conditions and climate but largely homogeneous in social and cultural conditions. When these lines were being written, the radio reported that the temperature in Iakutia was -42° C., while on the Black Sea coast of the Trans-caucasus it was +21° C. Then, at the request of Young Pioneers living in different corners of our enormous multinational country, poems and songs were presented, and these had a great deal in common and were comprehensible to all. The coincidence of tastes and interests, reflecting the common consciousness of Soviet people, is a fundamentally important consequence of the Soviet way of life and the overcoming of the former mutual isolation of the peoples.
