Abstract

In this paper, a new variation of current mode control for high power factor operation of boost rectifier is presented. It follows the same control structure as that of the linear peak current mode control, the nonlinear carrier control and the predictive switching modulator. However, it implements a different switching law by using a predictive averaged current mode control (PACC) that extends the range of continuous conduction mode of operation and there are no subharmonic oscillations. The predictive current trajectory is generated by using the circuit with two reset integrators. Simulation results on this boost rectifier prototype are presented
