Abstract

The traditional PFC control adopts the PI algorithm of the double-loop structure, but the PI parameter designed at this time is aimed at the inductor current continuous mode (CCM). When the PFC enters a heavy or light load, the converter inevitably enters the inductor current discontinuous mode (DCM). If the control parameters of CCM are still used at this time, the system may become unstable and reduce load response speed. Therefore, an optimized predictive current control is proposed, which calculates the duty cycle in CCM and DCM separately in advance, and then adopts the corresponding optimal duty cycle according to the detected inductor current conduction mode. With this algorithm, the PFC can operate in mixed conduction mode. It has a wider load range and faster load response speed than PI. Finally, through PLECS, the algorithm is verified by simulation.
