Abstract

India lives in her villages. This applies equally well in the case of Indian agriculture, especially Rubber cultivation. Profitable farming and better marketing choices in some states have made a large number of cultivators into agro-entrepreneurs too. This ought to be so in the case of Rubber cultivators as well. But rubber cultivators find their practice a loss making venture. To make the Rubber cultivation a profitable venture, it is an accepted fact that the Rubber Producer’s Societies ( RPS) should function at their optimum level. In fact, the size and profitability of the rural market enhances with agricultural development and infrastructure amenities offered by the RPS.
