Abstract

A new vehicle routing and scheduling method is developed associated with the actual and complicated delivery operations. The total travel time of fleets and the allocations of goods among the fleets under constraints connected with slack time windows are taken into consideration. The vehicle assignment planning and delivery routing planning are formulated as two stage optimization problems. Both of them are solved by approximating methods based on the concept of neuro dynamics. The experimental results are presented for an example of actual delivery problems. The solutions are attained in sufficiently short time.
