Abstract

THE PERIANESTHESIA NURSING STANDARDS, Practice Recommendations, and Interpretive Statements published by the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) 1 American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN)2019-2020 Perianesthesia nursing standards, practice recommendations, and interpretive statements. ASPAN, Cherry Hill, NJ2018 Google Scholar have a dedicated standard for research and clinical inquiry (Standard V) and a resource for appraisal and synthesis of evidence (Resource 1) using guidance from the Joanna Briggs Institute. The purpose of this guest editorial is to unpack EBP in practical terms and to illustrate how a curious and clinically engaged perianesthesia nurse can meet that challenge on a daily basis as part of routine nursing practice.
