Abstract

In this paper, we present an advanced visible light communication (VLC) system that is proficient in transmitting text data and file between two computers employing an extensive property of light emitting diode (LED), it can be regulated in such a speed that human eye cannot perceive its blinking. Applying photosensitive detector, transmitted data are received. It can be demonstrated as bidirectional VLC system where both computers can act as transceiver. Using an application of C++ we transmitted files between two computers where LED and photodiode were in the same line of sight. The performance of white LED, IR LED and red LED as transmitter is observed and analyzed where lowest bit error rate 0.0137 is found for white LED when distance is 1cm and the rate increases with the increase of distance. It is found to have better performance for white LED than the red LED and IR LED. So, we implemented our VLC based text and file transfer system with white LED.
