Abstract

Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurological disorder. The first signs are problems with movement. Smooth and coordinated muscle movements of the body are made possible by a substance in the brain called dopamine. Dopamine is produced in a part of the brain called the “substantia nigra.” We have studied the effect of Norepinepherine, Serotonin (5HT) individually, in combination and in presence of receptor antagonists Prazosin and Propranolol in different permutations and combinations in Male Lewis rats intraperitoneally injected with rotenone for 60 days eventually exhibiting severe PD like phenotypes.
