Abstract
This study demonstrates that meaningful quantitative histological examination can be undertaken on post-mortem specimens. Care is required to avoid tissue damage and to minimize autolytic changes. Quantitative results are presented of examination of oral mucosa at two sites in the edentulous mouth.
