Abstract

The subject of quality of service (QoS) and admission control for wireless home networks is of great interest now for both research and industry communities. Many standard developing organizations consider admission control as the only means to prevent overload of the network and a basis of a well thought through QoS solution. In this paper, we present a post-admission control solution for wireless home networks. By analysing the traffic load of the network the admission control decisions are made with respect to the already running applications. With the help of a dynamic prioritization mechanism coupled with the policy-based user-centric QoS solution, the presented approach provides flexible regulation of traffic on the network and improves the overall user experience.
