Abstract

The high electric field which is present in a mowing domain may lead to the amplification of high frequency phonons, via the deformation potential coupling. The high frequency phonons will react upon the low frequency ones in order to limit the growth of the domain. Estimate of this effect agrees with experimental data on GaAs.
