Abstract

In the present letter a method is proposed of measuring an excitation energy of the metastable states nuclei (of the isomeric nuclei), based on the isomeric shift of the molecular vibrational frequency. The up-to-date methods of the infrared laser spectroscopy allow to detect and measure the isomeric shift with a high accuracy. The method considered gives a possibility of the nuclear level spectroscopy by laser radiation.
