Abstract

Carriers such as vehicles, ships, and aircrafts are usually equipped with two or more than two sets of inertial navigation system. In view of this situation, the paper studies information fusion algorithm based on two sets of rotational inertial navigation systems (RINS), so as to improve the navigation accuracy of the single set of inertial navigation system. Based on the above requirements, the rotational strategies of the two inertial navigation systems are configured. On the basis of heading isolation, the online estimation algorithm for the main error sources affecting the navigation accuracy of the two inertial navigation systems is proposed. At the same time, the Kalman filter model is established, and the simulation verification of the information fusion algorithm on different trajectories is carried out. The results of 10 simulations show that the navigation accuracy of the two inertial navigation systems has been improved by about 70% and 50% respectively after adopting the information fusion algorithm, verifying the effectiveness and superiority of the information fusion method.
