Abstract

In order to conveniently measure the concentration of artificial pigments in different solutions, a portable measurement system was developed based on miniature fiber optic spectrometer (MFOS). With this system, the absorbance curves and the absorption coefficients in the visible band for five kinds of artificial pigments in different solutions were measured and calculated. By measuring the concentration of each pigment in mixed pigments solution, the reliability of the system was verified and the experimental results show that the relative error is within ±5%. Finally, with this portable pigment concentration measurement system, we successfully measured the concentration of artificial pigments in Fanta.
