A polymeric Mn complex with mixed pyridine-3,4-dicarboxylate/4,4′-bipyridine ligands: [Mn 2(C 7H 3NO 4) 2(C 10H 8N 2) 2] n · 2 nH 2O

Abstract

The hydrothermal reaction of Mn(CH 3CO 2) 2 · 4H 2O, pyridine-3,4-dicarboxylic acid, 4,4′-bipyridine and H 2O led to the formation of a polymeric Mn species, [Mn 2(C 7H 3NO 4) 2(C 10H 8N 2) 2] n · 2 nH 2O. The complex presents a three-dimensional structure and exhibits intense fluorescent emission upon photo-excitation.
