Abstract

Loss of vision is a common problem in older adults and can result in functional impairment and accidental injury. The four most common causes of vision loss in this age group are age-related macular degeneration (AMD), cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy, and on page 16 Dr David Pountney gives an excellent overview of the current state of affairs for AMD treatment.
