Abstract

This paper describes an innovative IT platform, called Locosp, that is the result of an ongoing industrial research project that involves several multidisciplinary partners from automotive manufacturing, software engineering, distributed systems, and business process management. The platform is essentially an IT infrastructure modeled after service-oriented architecture principles, which enforce the loose coupling of software agents and help close the gap between an enterprise's newer models and its legacy IT systems. This paper focuses on Locosp's overall architecture and the services offered to the main contractor's project manager through an extension of GanttProject, an open source project management client
