Abstract

A new idea about positron spur as a system of charged particles is presented. It is shown that under certain conditions the spur is in a plasma-like state. It is suggested that in dense gases ( P≥100 atm, T≤300 K) and liquids the behavior of a system of charged particles in the spur has a correlated character. The main parameters of positron spur such as the sizes and the lifetime have been evaluated. New mechanism of positronium formation from active particles in the spur is offered. Evaluation of characteristic time of elementary processes in the spur is given.
