Abstract

A piezoelectric motor with two projections and decoupled working modes was proposed in this research. A way of cutting holes on certain positions of rectangular plate was found to decoupling two working modes, which makes degeneration of mode frequencies easy. Two projections vibrate with the same pace, which can simultaneously push the mover to increase the output thrust. Structure of the piezoelectric motor is introduced together with the operation principle. A finite element model was set to analyze dynamic response of stator. Finally, a proof-of-principle prototype of stator was fabricated and mode testing results verified the proposed principle. Testing results show that the prototype is capable of outputing 0.5N load with speed 80mm/s while exciting by voltage signal with 300V Vpp and 20.5kHz frequency.
