Abstract
Siege Doctors shows a group of NHS doctors and nurses taking time out from their paid jobs in the comfortable NHS to do holiday work in Sarajevo. In five 50 minute parts it follows a £1.8 million operation funded by the Overseas Development Administration and set up by Tony Redmond, a consultant at North Stafford-shire Hospital and professor of emergency and disaster medicine at Keele. Professor Redmond is a veteran of Lockerbie and the Armenia earthquake and also supervised “Operation Irma.” All of these would have made better television than Siege Doctors.
