Abstract

The monograph is devoted to the study of pictorial plots in the stories of I.S. Turgenev “Asya”, “First Love”, “Spring Waters”. The plot-compositional, figurative, symbolic and other features of the paintings of Renaissance artists - Raphael, Cristofano Allori, Correggio - are projected onto Turgenev’s stories, helping to identify the artistic and visual dominant in them. In combination with another component presented by the sculptor of the classical era, Danneker, the pictorial plot is interpreted as an integral part of the writer’s philosophical picture of the world. The monograph is addressed to philologists, teachers, students, as well as anyone interested in the problems of interaction between literature and other forms of art.
