A photovoltaic project for the rural areas of the Eastern Cape, South Africa

Abstract

This paper reports on a collaborative photovoltaic project recently initiated between three tertiary institutions in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa. The broad objectives of the project are to help establish photovoltaic technology in South Africa, and to produce suitably qualified graduates in this field.
