Abstract

A new system for semi-automatic track counting is reported in this paper. The system is based on a photomultiplier tube as a light sensor. It is capable of counting of tracks in microscopic areas with track densities 10 7 tracks/cm 2 the highest track density used in this work. The results on etched through alpha-track density measurements using this system are reported. There exists a linear relationship between the manually measured track densities and the corrected out put of the our track counting system.
